Children grow within their relationships, so caregivers are often partners in care, from setting goals to practicing skills at home.

Signs a Child May Need Support

Changes in mood, sleep, school performance, friendships or behavior can signal that a young person needs support. One sign alone isn't a diagnosis. Caregivers often notice:

  • Frequent meltdowns, tears or anger
  • Worries or fears that get in the way
  • Trouble at school or with friends
  • Changes in sleep, eating or play
  • Stomachaches or headaches without a clear cause
  • A hard change or loss in the family

What Sessions May Look Like

Therapy isn't a punishment. Sessions may include conversation, creative or play-based activities, skill practice, and work with family, always working toward goals you help set.

  • Naming and managing big feelings
  • Calming and coping skills
  • Confidence and friendships
  • Support after trauma or loss
  • Strategies caregivers can use at home

Common Questions

What ages do you work with?

We work with children from birth through age 17, and with adults 18 and older.

Will I be part of my child's therapy?

Caregivers are included when clinically appropriate, with attention to a young person's privacy, safety and growing independence.

Is what my child says in therapy kept private?

The clinician explains confidentiality and its limits in clear, age-appropriate language, so everyone knows what stays private and what may be shared.
